1100: 9 in 10 Recovered COVID-19 Patients Experience Side Effects, says Study

  1. Nine in ten COVID-19 patients reported side-effects including fatigue, psychological after-effects and loss of smell and taste following recovery, reported a preliminary study by South Korea.
  2. An online survey of 965 recovered COVID-19 patients revealed that 879 people (91.1%) responded that they were having at least one side-effect from the disease, stated the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) official Kwon Jun-wook.
  3. Fatigue appeared to be the most common side-effect (26.2%), followed by difficulty in concentration (24.6%).
  4. Other after-effects included psychological or mental side-effects and loss of taste or smell.
  5. Kim Shin-woo, professor of internal medicine at Kyungpook National University School of Medicine in Daegu, asked for comments from 5,762 recovered patients in South Korea and 16.7% of them participated in the survey.
